We arrived at Westport Marina, Westport, NY July 19 at 11:45 where we will spend 3 days relaxing before heading back home.

Scene of the mountains as we headed north from Ft. Ticonderoga on Lake Champlain.

The Ticonderoga Paper Mill.

The new Crown Point Bridge under construction.

It was a stormy day today while docked at Chipman Point, VT, yet we were treated to a beautiful rainbow and sunset after the storm passed.

Three VERY low bridges as we approached Whitehall, NY

We came into some dredging activity on the Champlain Canal...narrow channel!

Looking north on the Champlain Canal

We met up our looper friends from CT aboard "Shore Thing" while at the Waterford Town Dock. We all went out to dinner at McGreevy's. It was good to see them!

Here we are passing a large freighter on the Hudson River.

Our passage through Hell Gate toward NYC was a bit swirly with some strong currents. We then headed up the Harlem River to the Hudson.

     SUMMER TRIP TO LAKE CHAMPLAIN

"Golden Lily", Nordic Tug 42, left Pilot's Point Marina, Westbrook, CT on July 9 for our 3 week vacation to Lake Champlain with Captain Jim, and Crew, Barb and Golden Retriever, Lily. The seas were from the northwest, so we had 2 foot waves on our starboard bow which made it  a bit uncomfortable for part of the trip, but it was a nice sunny day, and we all enjoyed the ride on Long Island Sound to start our adventure.
